Melbourne's Federation Square will come alive this weekend with the celebration of Buddha's Day and Multicultural Festival on this weekend, the 18 - 19 May 2019.
Hosting more than 40 activities, a great selection of food stalls, representing more than 40 cultural and community groups, the two days are a celebration of Buddha's birthday and the diversity of our multicultural and multi-faith society through traditional Buddhist ceremonies, arts, music, cultural performances, mindfulness lectures, world peace prayers, among many other activities.
The annual Buddha’s Day and Multicultural Festival is a not-for-profit festival, which promotes inclusiveness, cultural awareness, cultural understanding; and enhances community spirit and social harmony. This event is recognised as an important day in the Melbourne calendar by the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
The two-day Festival will have something for everyone, with a range of activities, ranging from varied family and children activities, through to sporty, hobbies, a vegetarian food fair, photo competition and animal sanctuary, and many more.
