Melbourne will be emblazoned next week with beginning of Chinese New Year with vibrant cultural performances, activities, costumes, cuisines and more. Starting on Friday 24 January to Sunday 9 February, the New Year - the Year of the Rat - will see lively festivities held across the city at some of Melbourne’s most treasured landmarks including Queensbridge Square, Melbourne Museum, Docklands Harbour and more.
Highlights of the festival will include:
The opening ceremony and New Year’s Day celebrations at Queensbridge Square on 24 January.
The highly anticipated annual Lunar New Year Dragon Boat Festival at Docklands on 8 & 9 February.
Family Day at Queen Victoria Market with plenty of food stalls offering delicious traditional dishes on 26 January.
Family Day at Melbourne Museum with cultural performances and plenty of activities for all ages!
