Now in its second year, the Cine Latino Film Festival has returned with 26 titles offering a range of films from Central and South America.

This year’s festival will open with Mexican film ‘You’re Killing me Susana’ and offers a nine-film spotlight on the best new films from Argentina.

In addition, the festival has maintained a strong partnership with ‘Hola Mexico Film Festival’ and has a strong ‘Contemporary Selection’ films from Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

One example of this is Brazilian film, ‘Gabriel and the Mountain’ winner of two major prizes at Cannes Film Festival and Venezuela’s official Academy Award submission for Best Foreign Film ‘El Inca’ a controversial boxing biopic about the stunning rise and fall of a World Boxing Champion.

Covering the full spectrum of drama, thriller and comedy, the festival offers a range of films to better understand the modern day realities in this part of the world.

The festival is organised by a Latin American and International film committee, headed by Colombian Festival spokesperson Gina Rubiano, and will screen exclusively at Palace Cinemas in Melbourne from the 16 -29 November 2017.
