Offering up two contrasting performances that fall within Circus Oz’s new array of shows is NEON and Bubblegum Cabaret.

Both presented as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in The Melba Spiegeltent, NEON, is an hilarious wild ride back to the fabulous 80’s suitable for adult audiences (18 years+) while Bubblegum Cabaret is a kaleidoscope of popping bubbles and snapping colours recommended for ages 3 years onwards.

In first instance, NEON is an unapologetic, funny and downright dirty dancing cabaret where circus meets comedy and song. Delivering everything that is tongue-in-cheek and

and too-tight-lycra, NEON is an unforgivably fluoro and big shoulder pads night out – it’s adult, uncut and naughty with hazardous levels of hair gel.

NEON is hosted by cabaret dynamo Geraldine Quinn (Rockwiz and Spicks and Specks), who will belt out 80’s classics while the Circus Oz ensemble showcase eye-popping circus skills and stunning acrobatics as they make everything that is so wrong about the 80’s, so right.

Directed by the inimitable Malia Walsh, NEON features mesmerising hula hooping, beautiful juggling, gravity defying adagio en pointe, hand balancing, incredible vocals and physical comedy. Stick around post show to rock it out in The Melba Spiegeltent for a full '80s dance party featuring superstar special guest DJs!

Circus Oz Artistic Director, Rob Tannion, explains that NEON is one offering that falls within Circus Oz’s new array of shows created for all types of audiences that are vastly different in size and experience. “Be prepared to experience an hilarious 80s’ late-nite of big hair, shoulder pads and incredible acrobatic feats, all performed in the tightest and brightest of lycra. NEON is mischievous, uncensored and definitely not what you would expect,” said Tannion.

Similarly fascinating, is Bubblegum Cabaret which gives a kaleidoscope of popping bubbles and snapping colours, providing a wonderfully colourful and amusing circus cabaret created especially for kids.

Bubblegum Cabaret is a fun array of astounding circus tricks and acrobatic feats, including electrifying hula hooping, jaw-dropping juggling, hair-raising handstands and incredible balancing acrobatics.

Hosted by comedian Geraldine Quinn (from Rockwiz and Spicks and Specks), this hilariously silly show has her signature side-splitting comedy and song as she entertains kids and families. Showcasing astounding circus tricks, laughter and some of Circus Oz’s most shameless acrobats, Bubblegum Cabaret is a family friendly cabaret rated UF – Unmissable Fun.
