Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG) is currently hosting its Coast: The Artists' Retreat exhibition on till the 18 February.
Featuring a range of well-known Australian artists, this exhibition brings together works from iconic artists creating a conversation and relationship to the coast and the unique Australian landscape and environment.
The exhibition shows newly commissioned works from GW Bot, Megan Cope, Raafat Ishak, Euan Macleod and Kerrie Poliness. These new works are the outcome of a newly established artist in residence program in Portsea.
Independent curator and former MPRG curator Rodney James uses the 20 cumulative years of research into the region to look at the historic works in the area, while MPRG Senior Curator Danny Lacy considers contemporary works.
Raafat Ishak talks about his work in Coast: The artists' retreat
The Coast exhibition offers free guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm.
