The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is again coming to Melbourne and bringing with it a host of international comedians to our fair shores.
Offering a full selection of traditional Comedy Festival events such as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala, Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow and the unique 29th Annual Great Debate will deliver on entertaining Melbournians during the 26-day festival.
Four key shows to feature in this year’s line-up include:
Well known for being selected to tour in Asia and Australia as part of the Festival’s Roadshow and for sharing a stage with other big name comedians, Daniel can be described as the ideal Aussie comedian – affable, loveable and hilarious. Sure to be filled with jokes, stories and backflips – this is one show sure to bring a laugh.
A Russian comedy featuring a bride, nerdy scientist and failed rock star are all part of this show’s debut which embraces some of the quirks of Australian life, including our laidback attitude and love for Tim Tams. Featuring several finalists from Comedy RAW and special guest Kirill Sietlov, this is one show worth it’s rubles.
A show about life’s most annoying everyday challenges and the good and evil voices that guide us through them, Cameron James is back with a killer new hour and can also be found in several ABC comedy productions and on his podcasts.
Virgin Bloody Mary is a critically-acclaimed award nominated clown show, featuring Nadia Collins as a mostly silent, wholly irreligious Virgin Mary. Plunge down the rabbit hole as she rides the highs and lows of a supernatural pregnancy.
This year’s festival will feature hundreds of comedians from Australia and abroad – so check out the full list here.
