Combining the charms of more than 40 events in a month, Ballarat will host its own month-long Winter Festival in July, teaching Melburnian how to truly embrace the chilly season.
This year’s Festival has events like Sovereign Hill’s Christmas in July: Winter Wonderlights display, as well as a number of foodie events like the inaugural Potato Festival (1 July), the Ballarat Brew Festival (22 July), and The Red Series Wine Festival (29 July) featuring wines from the nearby Pyrenees wine region.
The festival will also have a wealth of family-friendly activities like the City of Ballarat’s ice-skating rink, and activities like a giant inflatable slide, igloo haven and a frozen forest. Other unique activities will include a Knights of Fire event at Kryal Castle with jousting and visiting penguins at the Ballarat Wildlife Park.
