Comedy is often funny for being painfully honest and no show demonstrates this more clearly than Fleabag.
An award-winning comedy, this one-person show tells the story of a filthily hilarious 26-year-old we know as Fleabag, who is a sex-obsessed, wine-guzzling, porn-watching woman who is trying to balance life and its disasters with increasing difficulty.
Written by UK performer Phoebe Waller-Bridge – star of Netflix series Crashing – this comedy show is performed by Maddie Rice, who is refreshingly honest, occasionally brutal, and sometimes hard to watch. The acting is enthralling, and makes the story and people all too real. Here is all the family, friends, social anxiety, disastrous job interviews and meaningless sex you can handle.
Fleabag premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013, and went on to be a BBC mega hit, with its return season at the Soho Theatre caused a booking frenzy. Created by DryWhite and Soho Theatre production and part of theMelbourne International Comedy Festival, see a comedy show that is almost theatre in Fleabag!
