Skies illuminated with a spectacular mix of light and colour is on show this week with the start of the Glow Winter Arts Festival in Malvern's East beautifully historic Central Park from the 16 -19 August 2018.
Now in its fifth year, the Glow Winter Arts Festival is a unique immersive outdoor installation with the wonderous show on nightly from 6-10pm each night in Central Park, Malvern East.
Featuring the magic of larger than life installations like forests of colour, music of the trees, and giant neon letters, all these can be experienced in this free festival. Mayor of the City of Stonnington, Cr Steve Stefanopoulos is thrilled to offer such an event.
"I'm delighted to invite residents and visitors to experience our wonderful Central Park in a new light. Over four nights, we will transform the dark of winter into a wonderland of light and play."
One key installation on show is award-winning Mandylights who will present The Laser Garden, an immersive installation of thousands of rotating green laser beams. The rays catch the air in clouds of dense fog and with a lick of wind, the garden changes in shape and size as visitors roam freely through the beams.
Other significant works include Revive the Reef by S1T2, whose work asks us to think about the environment and particularly the Great Barrier Reef, Neon Glow and Neon Night Garden, which features oversized, multicoloured neon GLOW letters, archways, umbrellas and Between the Trees, which is an interactive tree installation with collaborations with musical instruments, between the worlds of plants, humans, music and light.
