END OF YEAR BRINGS IN TRUE DRAMA IN 'MACBETH'

Following on from their Wind in the Willows season in Melbourne, The Australian Shakespeare Company is opening the new production of the Bard's greatest drama; Macbeth, this Friday, 21 December 2018.

Telling the story of one man's ill-fated journey, Macbeth, receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that tell him that one day he will be the King of Scotland. A heroic General, he is consumed by ambition and spurred into action by his power-hungry wife, leading to tragic consequences.

Starring Nathaniel Dean as Macbeth and the much-lauded actor Alison Whyte in the infamous role of Lady Macbeth, this summer's production will unleash a visceral new production of Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy in the inspiring surrounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens. It's a potent tale of morality versus power.

The Australian Shakespeare Company this year will be celebrating its remarkable 30th Anniversary of their Shakespeare Under The Stars. Performing in live, outdoor settings, the concept has grown from a small idea in 1988 to now being an integral part of the cultural fabric of Summer in Melbourne.

Don't miss out on your opportunity to see the unforgettable Macbeth this summer!
