MUSIC COMES INTO FOCUS IN THIS YEAR’S PENINSULA SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL

The 12th Peninsula Summer Music Festival is on from 1st to the 13th January for its best year yet!
Featuring a New Artistic Director, acclaimed oboist Ben Opie, this year’s program has an extended festival and stunning new venues including the Peninsula Hot Springs, Whistlewood Gallery and the first festival performance at the Coombe Yarra Valley Winery.
Hosting two weeks of musical delights the festival will see 26 performances over 13 days and nights, held in 18 venues across the picturesque region. Offering musical genres like jazz, classical masterpieces and string sounds, it will also have the acclaimed Australian Haydn Ensemble, regarded as one of Australia’s finest orchestras and chamber music groups, making their Victorian debut. Specialising in music of the Classical era, the Ensemble’s concert will have five exceptional musicians: Skye McIntosh (violin), Simone Slattery (violin), James Eccles (viola), James Bush (cello) and Melissa Farrow (flute).
