The Peninsula Summer Music Festival is on again, with this year's festival featuring an ever growing selection of music and performance types.

Held from the 1- 10 January, the festival will have performances from around the world with events from intimate candlelight concerts, to unique performances in local wineries and more music around the Peninsula.

Focus on the talents of local and interstate artists, from Japanese shakuhachi and harp to saxophone to recorder and koto, the festival has expanded to have a range of different events, like yoga classes with one of Australia’s leading violinists performing during the session, and a family day Haydn Seek where kids of all ages will search for our musicians in Balnarring.

Another key event is the Twilight Jazz with Alinta and the Jazz Emperors on Monday, 6 January. Held at the gorgeous Montalto Estate, these five performers are fine musicians in a band that is always more than the sum of its parts. Inspired by the old greats of John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald and Miles Davis, the band's lead singer Alinta, a charismatic vocalist/actress/songwriter. Currently starring in Chicago as the famed Velma Kelly, she has also starred in West Side Story, Hugh Jackman’s – Broadway to Oz, Wentworth and many more.

The band also features Dutch tenor saxophonist, composer and band leader Remco Keijzer. Keijer has been leading his original bands through Europe, Australia and the US and has released three original albums since moving to Australia.

With the Jazz Emperors they bring a contemporary twist, engaging audiences on a trip between classic and contemporary.
