Now is the perfect time to get into science, with this year’s ‘Pint of Science’ talks starting. Offering a range of fascinating talks on scientific topics over three days in May, the talks give the opportunity to learn about scientific topics in a relaxed environment.
Pint of Science presentation are held in 16 locations throughout Australia and provide interesting and relevant talks on the latest scientific research in the most accessible format – in the pub! Topics covered include the mind, cosmos and universe, atoms and galaxies, the body, planet earth, biotechnology and robotics, among many others.
The Pint of Science program is a charity run by mainly by volunteers and was established by a community of postgraduate and post-doctoral researchers in 2012. It brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to discuss their latest research and findings with you and gives the opportunity to meet the people who are the future of science.
Pint of Science Festival 2018
This year’s Pint of Science in Australia is proudly supported by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia’s national science agency. Australia held its first Pint of Science in 2014 and just keeps getting bigger. Pint of Science started in the UK in 2012 and runs every May in nearly 300 cities across 21 different countries.
