Seeing winter at its finest, Queenscliff launches its inaugural Low Light Festival, bringing the best of international and local artists, music, events and culinary talent for a showcase stretching across a month, starting on the 22 June.
Held across four weekends, these being the: 22 June, 29 June, 6 July and 13 July, the festival has a range of curated activities including music, mini film festival, food and drink, interactive art, among other events.
Sympathetic to the Low Light theme, special screenings of Icelandic films will be on offer, with Bellarine Lighthouse Films curating an entire film festival.
Music is also a highlight at the festival with popular, All Our Exes Live in Texas and The Little Stevies, all having a one-night performance at the Queenscliff Town Hall. A long list of other bands will be performing over the month, with a special Sunday session on The Blues Train are beingheld with Allister Turrill, Anna Scionti and Francesco Melli, all bringing their music to the township.
Other events include culinary delights from local restaurants Private Dining Room and a battle of the Wines event to be held titled Bordeaux and Bellarine. Foodies will also delight in the high tea events, an Italian Winter Feast and whiskey and gin tastings.
Art will also take centre-stage with exhibitions featuring works by Katrin Koenning, Deborah and Ryan Brearley and Graham Peebles all showing in nearby galleries. Carole Foster and Vida Pearson will also host art workshops, with a special high tea being held with body artist Emma Hack, to warm the creative spirit in winter.
