Taste of Melbourne is once again showcasing Melbourne’s diverse food and culture scene, happening from 30 Nov- 3 December 2017.
Taking an exciting new direction, this four-day food extravaganza will deliver a feast with a difference, teaming up the city’s favourite chefs and a creative counterpart – like fashion designers, sculptors, graffiti artists or illustrators – to offer a culinary collaboration unique to Taste of Melbourne.
Labelled the Creative CoLab, this collaboration has led to paper engineer, Benja Harney creating Taste Festival food in paper form, making zucchini flowers, mushrooms and prawns, as part of this cuisine and art collision.
“Paper food is one of my favourite things to make. I wanted to create an interesting take on the festival with an artistic and cultural angle that represents the many things Taste of Melbourne has to offer” Mr Harney said.
Now in its tenth year, Taste has found an iconic new home at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and continues to offer sample-sized menu options from some of Melbourne’s best restaurants, bars and producers.
Taste of Melbourne is also hosting a range of new events such as the tenth Birthday Bash party, an After Dark Party in the park with exclusive gigs by local bands and DJs and a Marketplace event, featuring one-off products from local makers, designers and artisan producers.
Taste will also host its extensive range of masterclasses in Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets and demonstrations by the city’s top chefs.
