The Ballarat Winter Festival is on again and it's bigger and better than ever! With a large selection of activities and event on for everyone, this year’s events have something for everyone, with families and day-trippers equally well catered for!
A month-long festival, held from the 30 June to 29 July, the festival has a Christmas in July event, (30 June to 22 July), a Pop-up Ice-skating rink, a Salumi and Charcuterie Festival (21 July), a Laneway Lumieres event (30 June to 29 July) and The Red Series (a red wine event on 29 July) the festival showcases some of the extraordinary talent and history in this town.
Due to the scope of the festival, festival itineraries are broken down into six types of travellers, these being: family favourites, romantic weekend, food and drink, art and culture, day trippers and music and entertainment visitors.
Events like the family-friendly Christmas in July, sees Sovereign Hill lit up at night, the favourite Pop-up Ice skating rink also open daily for school holidays, as well as The Art Gallery of Ballarat’s exhibition Into Light: French Masterworks from the Musee de la Chartreuse on offer. Fashion lovers will also delight in the Ballarat Boutique event on the 8 July and the Laneway Lumieres event from showcasing some of the great local art installations on and lit up every night over the month.
