Melbourne will come alive these with the arrival of The Famous Spiegeltent coming to Luna Park in St Kilda these September school holidays.

Offering a spectacular line-up of adult and family entertainment, the famous iconic amusement park, Luna Park will be home to The Famous Spiegeltent and deliver magic, music, thrills and spills to audiences of all ages inside its vintage opulent setting.

A one-of-a-kind venue, The Famous Spiegeltent is famous for being the ultimate performance salon, incorporating stunning wood, mirror and leaded glass all finished with velvet and brocade. This building is the last of the remaining original Belgian spiegeltents built in 1920 and it has travelled from Edinburgh to Melbourne and Paris to New York.

Combining the best of vintage fairground alongside the The Famous Spiegeltent, David Bates, Director of Spiegeltent International, says there is much to see. "The original concept of the fairground is being reinstated with the much loved, Famous of all Spiegeltents.

"This is the world that imagined the spiegel (mirror) tent, and we are trilled to present a season of concerts, comedy, cabaret, and carnival dreams. The world of The Famous Spiegeltent returns to Melbourne!" David says.

Luna Park CEO Mary Stuart agrees the The Famous Spiegeltent is a fabulous addition to the Park. "The links between the world of carnival history that is Luna Park and the world of performance art that is The Famous Spiegeltent are very strong. Heritage Amusement parks were the places of the people's art. We are delighted to welcome the rich diversity of live performance to co-mingle with the thrills and excitement of everything," she says.
