Situated in the East end of Daylesford, the iconic Farmers Arms Hotel now has boutique accommodation in the shape of its new Luxe Art Suites and Heritage Cottage.
Giving a new edge to accommodation to in the region, the new motel style Luxe Art Suites feature artworks adorning the walls, providing a gallery-like feel to each room across the road from the historical hotel setting.
“Patrons of the pub have been pleading with proprietors for decades for a place to rest their weary heads,” says owner Mitch Duncan.
Set in the charming East-end of Daylesford, the town's artistic character has come into its own in recent years, with the arrival of Artist Bromley & Co moving into the neighbourhood. Well-situated, the hotel gives a complete eat, drink, sleep experience,with both external activities at its doorstep and artistic charms in its own Luxe Art Suites.
The new Luxe Art suites give three levels of accommodation: superior and standard art suites, as well as a fully renovated cottage for larger groups. The suites host the work of three artists, firstly, Victoria Watts, with landscape paintings depicting local bushlands, David Rosendale, with photographic landscapes of snow and winter at Fall Creek, and Steven Rosendale with oil paintings inspired by pop culture. All the artworks are on regular rotation in the pub and art suites. Artists are also welcome to submit expressions of interest to exhibit.
Originally a charming country pub, the Farmers Arms has since 1857 been feeding hungry locals and travellers. Today the collaborative kitchen, headed by Chris Timmins, serves up gourmet delights seven days a week from a seasonal menu that showcases local produce and suppliers.
